2005 - 2009 – monkeypuzzledaynurseries.com

The Monkey Puzzle website was initially created in 2005 to showcase 3 Hertfordshire-based nurseries and an exciting new franchise scheme for investors.

Over the 4 last years MungoWeb has worked with the Directors and, increasingly directly with franchise owners, to develop a network of websites that represent the 16 nursery locations.

The original site was built with a custom content management system allowing admin staff to edit the website content and post job adverts. With the organic growth of the company, in 2008, the decision was taken to migrate Monkey Puzzle to the WordPress platform and create a dedicated website for every nursery.

This decision has proven popular with nursery owners as it allows them some freedom to populate their sites with their own information and pictures to appeal to local parents. At the same time, the use of one common design across print and online marketing also ensures consistent brand appeal and a professional web presence for every nursery location.

MungoWeb provide a full digital creative service to the company including email management for all nursery staff, regular search engine optimisation improvements and the creation of Google AdWords campaigns that draw in both prospective parents and potential franchisees.

Over the last four years we have developed an interactive online game for the company (‘Monkey’s Puzzle’, built with pre-school children in mind) and also advised on website traffic reporting and online marketing techniques.

“Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries have been working with MungoWeb for over three years. MungoWeb worked closely with us to develop our website from scratch. We gave them a brief that was followed and interpreted to the word resulting in a logical, vibrant website that promotes Monkey Puzzle in its very best light. I will be working with MungoWeb to continue developing the Monkey Puzzle website and would highly recommend MungoWeb to any new clients.”

The WalesHome editorial team were struggling with a poor WordPress implementation and wanted to better leverage the knowledge and writing skills of their blog contributors to drive traffic and increase the profile of the site among their target audience.

MungoWeb evaluated their WordPress platform for style, coding and security issues – the result was a recommended upgrade to the latest version of the platform and the implementation of a new magazine theme with custom tweaks based on the highly popular Mimbo design.

A number of popular Web2.0 plugins were also deployed allowing the successful integration of the WalesHome Twitter feed, Facebook profile and blog posts. A MailChimp mailing list was also added to the site bringing seamless email newsletter management.

The team are now publishing ‘Independent analysis from and about Wales’ seven days a week and seeing evidence of continuous traffic growth with the use of Google Analytics reporting.

“Chris has been an absolute star throughout the process of redesigning our site. From the start, he knew exactly what we were after, and delivered exactly what he said he would and on time. WalesHome.org is now far more accessible, with a host of new features. I’d definitely use MungoWeb again.”

The Pengelly and Rylands website had existed for several years as one landing page with a summary of the company’s legal services.

The brief was to create a simple brochure site based on the company letterhead that introduced visitors to the firm’s team of experienced solicitors and the full range of traditional legal advice offered.

A series of design comps were produced based on the company colour scheme with stock photos of the surrounding Kent countryside used to reinforce the local approach to family law.

The final design uses large type and a clean, simple layout to convey information. Post-launch, analysis of site traffic Analytics reports combined with an introductory Pay-Per-Click campaign will be used to increase the company’s online profile.

“We wanted to attract a wider audience of clients and asked Chris to design a completely new website for us. Our previous site was a single page, and we knew we wanted information on each department, with a design that was easy to navigate around.

On providing Chris with the basic content, he produced four possible designs and investigated our web hosting package. He quickly dealt with the modifications we requested, was extremely helpful in getting the details right, and I would highly recommend his services.”

The site was originally launched as the directory for fans of the American car scene in the UK, with an extensive supplier, cars and parts database plus news stories and classifieds listings. The site proved popular but unprofitable.

In April 2002 Sir Paul McCartney kicked off his ‘Driving USA’ tour playing 27 shows across 14 states and fans were naturally drawn to this URL. After a brief discussion with his PR agency, the site was turned into a redirect to the official album and later hosted an Amazon affiliate script generating sales of McCartney and Beatles merchandise.

After a 5 year run the domain was again transformed and now hosts a Google Maps-based directions tool, generating income from AdSense adverts and GPS and travel themed affiliate links.
